Travel: required throughout Southeast/Central Michigan and northern Ohio.
Description
Successful applicants will have a proven track record as a Project Manager/Estimator of a structural steel fabrication company. This may include managing or coordinating a team of Project Coordinators, Project Administrators, and other Project Managers.
- Enforce all safety and quality standards.
- Provide business development and lead generation to meet sales goals.
- Communicate with necessary departments to determine the schedule of work and material purchases.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare reports for management.
- Assure proper documentation and accounting for project RFI’s, change requests, and change orders.
- Review contract documents and understand the project scope of work.
- Review plans and proposals to determine proper procedures in order to accomplish company and project goals.
- Review addenda, construction bulletins, RFPs, and other change documentation.
- Ensure all aspects of projects are properly and thoroughly documented to ensure company interests are protected.
- Ensure that all contractual terms and obligations of projects are maintained.
- Buy-out projects to ensure they meet cost requirements.
- Meet with key personnel to identify potential barriers with resolutions that maximize production, minimize cost and ensure timeliness of projects.
- Visit job sites as needed for field measuring, meetings and project coordination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and Tekla PowerFab.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Fabsuite, SDS2, Tekla or similar applications is a bonus.
- Knowledge of current AISC standards and AWS codes.
- Experience reviewing construction drawings (i.e. architectural, structural).
- Ability to understand contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.
- Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills.
